The new unit Sound Studies and Aural cultures focuses on the creation of documentary style audio work which aims to discuss issues around the historical and contextual meaning surrounding the area of sound art. This can include subjects such as curators, musicians, producers, film, games, digital media, V.R., labels, festivals, venues etc, creative technologists, builders, equipment companies, web-sites, magazines, Youtubers etc.

In this assignment I am required to produce a script with an easily outlined and informative script. Produce at least 6 blog entries around the visiting practitioner lectures and A completed sound work being 10 minutes minimum in the format of a podcast audio paper.

Learning outcomes, these are some of the most important points worth memorising. basically telling me how to approach this.

.Research influential historical and contemporary theories on sound art, sound design and other forms of sound making. (Enquiry). Your audio paper will systematically address each of the areas outlined (analysis, evaluation and debate)

.Contextualise sound cultures within broader contemporary and historical socio-political concerns. (Knowledge). Global sound cultures exist in relation to broader societal and cultural contexts. You might wish to explore the relationship between a sound culture that interests you, the dominant culture in which it exists and also the other, subordinate sonic subcultures

.Analyse and evaluate sound work with regard to the concerns of contemporary sound aesthetics, ideologies, cultural practice and contexts. (Process)
